The Naruse Academic Scholarship

The Naruse Academic Scholarship Fund is providing scholarships for deserving students. The Center for Scholarship Administration, Inc. (CSA), a non-profit, independent organization is the administrator of the program.

 

Who is eligible for the scholarship?

Applicants must be dependent children (defined as natural, adopted and resident step-children) of eligible employees of AFL Telecommunications. Eligible employee is defined as a full-time, US based employee on the current payroll. Employee must have had one (1) year of continuous employment prior to January 3, 2011. Applicants must be high school seniors, including home-schooled students; married or unmarried, with no age limit; must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale through the FALL 2010 term; must have a minimum score of 1800 out of a possible 2400 on the SAT or 27 composite on the ACT; and must plan to attend an accredited, four-year,college or university.

 

When does the program start?

The applications will be available November 16, 2010. Interested applicants may apply online or request a paper application by contacting CSA by mail at P. O. Box 1465 Taylors, SC 29687 by phone at (864) 268-3363; or by email at mailto:juliecsa@bellsouth.net?subject:Naruse Scholarship Program.

 

When is the deadline for submission of materials?

All materials must be submitted to CSA with a postmark no later than FEBRUARY 28, 2011. All materials must be mailed in ONE envelope. If you applied online and received a confirmation of submission you may send just the additional materials required.

 

What constitutes a complete application packet?

1.      A completed application form, including the signed Terms of Agreement.

2.      Official transcript with grades and cumulative GPA posted through FALL 2010.

3.      Signed Personal Statement regarding importance of scholarship, college and or career plans.

 

What is the value of the scholarship award?

The amount of the scholarships will be up to $2,000 per year, with a cap of $8,000 per student over a four year period. The award will be applied to the cost of tuition, room and board, fees, books and supplies.

 

What schools may I attend?

You must be a full time student enrolled at an accredited four-year college or university offering a bachelor's degree. The recipient`s school of choice must be exempt from federal income tax under Section 501 (c) (3) of the IRS Code.

Chick and Sophie Major Memorial Duck Calling Contest





The Chick and Sophie Major Memorial Duck Calling Contest awards a $1,500 scholarship to the winner. The first runner-up receives a $500 scholarship, the second runner-up receives a $300 scholarship and the third runner-up receives a $200 scholarship. The contest is open to any high school senior in the United States who can call ducks. Contestants have 90 seconds to use four calls (hail, feed, comeback and mating). The John Featherston, M.D. Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a student who is full-time in the fall semester of the second year of the radiologic technology program at SCC with a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Requirements
must be a member of the S.C.S.R.T. and UDI with plans to remain active in the professional field
must be a member of the UDI with plans to remain active in the professional field

AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF CANDY TECHNOLOGISTS
JOHN KITT MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

 

The National Candy Techonologists Scholarship is $5,000.00, paid in two $2,500.00 installments after verification of enrollment.

To qualify for this non-renewing scholarship award, the student must meet the following criteria:

  • College sophomore, Junior or Senior status (in 2010-2011).

 • Have a demonstrated interest in confectionery technology.

                             • Attend an accredited, four-year college or university within North America.

                                 • Be majoring in a food science, chemical science, biological science, or related area.

             • Achieved a 3.0 (out of 4.0) GPA (or equivalent on another scale).

 

Your demonstrated interest in confectionery technology can include many activities including but not limited to research projects, work experience, and formal study.

Stephen "Todd" Reynolds Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to a graduating high school student from Chesnee High School with a minimum 3.0 high school cumulative GPA. Preference is given to a student pursuing a degree in electronics, and financial need is an award requirement.
